Hi, my name is Allison Zeller, and this is my original design for the “Design Your Own Prom 2010” contest. I accept the Terms and Conditions that the design is my own. I’m a Freshman at Murrieta Valley High School, and this is a dress that I would love wear to my Prom. I’m a big girly-girl and ever since I was little, I have loved 'Sleeping Beauty.' That’s where I got my inspiration for my dream dress but with a lot of changes.

This dress is really unique because you can wear it three different ways! First, worn with the two parts together – pink overskirt dress and the silver with aqua tulle ruffle skirt underneath. Second, the pink overskirt dress by itself (take silver skirt off for dancing!). Third, the silver with aqua tulle ruffle skirt worn by itself with a blouse or top in whatever style or color combination you choose. The silver skirt is meant to be worn with a hoop, or a very full petticoat. This dress will be worn many different times with me. I can wear it to Prom when I’m older, and I can wear it now because I am in Rainbow Girls and we love wearing hoop style dresses!

I chose these colors because hot pink has always been my favorite color, and aqua looks nice with it. The silver is an accent to make it look more elegant. Even though I chose these three colors, this design can be done with ANY color combination. I love the lace-up back idea, but I wanted to make my dress different than all the others. So, the laces tie from the waist to the shoulder so the bow can hang gracefully down the dress. The most common design for embroidery is done as flowers, and I would like to see swirls and loop-de-loop kind of look for the aqua embroidery.
