Free Prom Dress 2010 Design NE100127 by Alexandra Butler

lilac strapless prom dress design for free prom contest by Alexandra Butler

Hello!

My name is Alexandra. I have always been entranced with the glamour of prom. Along with that has come many hours of searching both the Internet and stores for the perfect dress, the one that makes me look and feel stunning. I have yet to find that dress, so as my searching continued, my friend introduced me to this web site. I was so excited to create and submit the dress I have been envisioning.

This dress incorporates an empire-waistline created by a one-and-a-half inch black satin waistband that will create a defined waistline and allow the rest of the dress to float away from the body. This will create a complimentary effect for any body shape by forming a slim silhouette without clinging to any unflattering areas. The deep purple satin on the upper bodice would be overlaid by sheer black fabric adorned with silver beadwork and black crystals tapering to a point just above the waistband. The skirt of the dress mimics a night sky with a deep purple color fading from the empire-waist to a lighter purple at the hem. Also covering the satin will be the sheer black overlay gathered at the waistband to create the flowing effect of the dress. The silver beadwork embroidered along the hem of the black fabric arches up several times in the front to create the impression of stars. Each section of beadwork is topped with a black gem to match the black crystals interspersed throughout the beadwork.  The beadwork at the back of the dress would be a single motif bridging up to a crowning silver accent. The back of the dress would trail slightly out  to create a small train. The overall effect of the dress is a classic and vintage feel and the cut and drape lend a sophisticated quality to it.

This dress is an original design and I agree to the terms and conditions of this contest. Thank you for considering my design.
