Here is my design for the 'Design Your Own Prom 2010' and the story behind it.

Basically most girls dream of the perfect prom-the cute date, the beautiful make-up, getting the nails and hair done-the whole deal; and behind every girls magical imagery of prom lies the most important thing of all: the dress. It's every one of those girl's dream to arrive in a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind, fairy-tale, jaw-dropping, eye-gazing masterpiece that makes all the guys go crazy and makes all the girls rage with envy.

For my design, I decided to go classy and elegant. These days its all about skin but the beauty of my design is that it's somewhat conservative; however it still carries a little bit of mystique due to the deep round neckline in the front and the plummeting back cut out. I feel that my design is simple yet elegant. The top down to the midsection is ruched and around the calf to mid-calf area the bottom of the dress curves outward like a mermaid tail, but not so drastic. The straps up top are very slender but increase in width up to the top by about double the size. The straps also lie somewhat off the shoulder instead of straight-on like a camisole. There is a zipper on the side and the dress is double layered: lining 100% acetate and outside: 100% polyester.

I feel I put my best efforts into this dress and I believe it represents me. This is my dream dress. Thank you nexteve.com for providing such an opportunity.
