Free Prom Dress 2010 Design NE100129 by Monika Martin

black and winered sheath prom dress by Monika Martin

For my 2010 prom dress, I opted for a modern, sophisticated look. The colors would be black and a dark scarlet/maroon color. The black top would wrap around the shoulders and the bust as shown with a shiny or other type of interesting material. The bottom of the dress (maroon part) would be a durable, non-sheer/shiny material with a “mermaid” style bottom. The shoulder material would wrap around the back of the dress. A thin stripe of black cloth would be wrapped around the waist as an accent.

I was browsing the Internet for dresses when I came across the contest. I’ve always loved fashion drawing (even if I’m not very good at it) and I decided it couldn’t hurt to enter and see how my design turned out. I had five designs before I finally settled on this one, and I’m really happy with it. I like the modern, elegant style of the dress. It’s not necessarily a trend follower, but I designed it with the hope that it would still look classy no matter what is in style. I would be thrilled if I could wear this dress to prom. I’m really fond of the design and I’d love to sew the dress myself, but considering my sewing abilities it would probably turn out in pieces (or not at all).

I agree to the terms and conditions of the contest, and my dress is an original creation.
