My name is Alyssa DeBolt and I go to Jewel MS, Illinois. I do accept all terms and conditions of Free Prom 2010. I know I’m not going to have my prom for years but, in May we have our 8th grade formal and I want it to have the perfect theme and I want the perfect dress, and I probably could and will wear it for my prom. The two theme options are Medieval Magic and Masquerade.
I designed this one of a kind original dress in July of ’09. It was inspired as I was thinking about possible formal themes for my 2010 class. This dress is a classy look that could go with any theme for prom, homecoming, or formal. I designed this thinking of moonlight streams, the ocean, and flowers. I was trying to come up with a design that could blow anyone away by how simple yet gorgeous it is, and that’s what I got. It combines a touch of sea colors with a glittering stream of silver. It’s meant to be exquisite, classy, and inexpensive. I love this dress and I would be so sad if I couldn’t wear this on my special night. This is my perfect dress and I want to wear this to my formal so badly.
Description:
I was thinking the dress could be made of charmeuse. The main body of the dress would be silver. The cross sections and straps would be sea blue and sea green. The straps would be about an inch and a half wide and would cross in the back with a one inch wide clear crystal on the intersection and one clear crystal on each place the straps are attached to the dress. Where the two straps intersect, the crystal will be on the top strap and in between there would be a snap so that you could undo the straps to get in the dress. . On the back, there would be a zipper to the lower back/waist. The bands that cross the front of the dress by the straps would end on each side halfway under the armpits, with the sea green band on top.
Then, around the waist, the highest part of the five to seven inch wide straps would be right below the bust, like an empire waist, and the lowest part would end about an inch below the belly button on the side, with the sea green as the top band. They would continue all around the dress, and in the back, the sea blue would be the top band. The bands would fit together tightly in a criss-cross x shape, so that no silver shows between the bands. When the silver reappears under the lowest part of the bands, it will slightly flare out, so that it gives the wearer a pretty, gentle curve, with the skirt going from thinner at the waist to about double the size of the waist at the bottom, with no train, just about an inch or two at the bottom that lays on the floor.
With the split over the left leg, the smallest clear crystal, about an inch and half, would be about six inches above the knee and the top of the split. From the floor to the knee, it would be a split that starts at about ten to twelve inches wide and then slowly it shrinks in from the bottom to the largest clear crystal until there is no more sea blue showing. The biggest crystal would be a two and a half inch, the medium would be a two inch, and the smallest would be an inch and a half wide. I really hope you select my design to be created.
Thanks a ton,
Alyssa
