Hi, my name is Leah, and I am entering the Design Your Prom Dress 2010 contest. Attached is my original design. This elegant ballgown was inspired by a flower that blooms for only one night a year. A majestic dark blue material is complemented by ivory embellishments: lace at the neckline, peeking underskirts, and a long satin bow in the back.

Ideal for a small frame, the dress has gathered cap-sleeves that fall only slightly off the shoulders, and the neckline sits high enough on the collarbone to be considered fashionably modest. The skirts are slightly widened for a "ballgown" look and the pick-up layering is drawn in by dainty pearl decorations, which will match a corresponding necklace. The same pearls will serve as buttons up the back. With sparkles glimmering across the bodice and midsection, this dress will resemble the starry night sky.
