For this design, I wanted to create that sleek look of a mermaid prom dress while also giving it a playful side. The dress had a halter top that ties in the back made of a light blue, and the top is a low cut sweet heart. The dress is not one solid color. Its various shades of blue arranged by an arrow/ triangle shaped pattern, and the snug fit is designed to make the body appear taller and slimmer with an hourglass shape. The bottom half of the dress cuts off about mid-thigh in the front, but tapers off to about the ankle in a sassy representation of a mermaid skirt. What I like about this design is the ease of movement. I made it so that a girl can actually walk in it—or dance in it for that matter—instead of shuffling an inch per step.
